Linux gamers, rejoice! Yesterday, as announced, Valve has released the beta version of its successful first-person shooter Left 4 Dead 2 for all game owners. The game is based on the current Valve's game engine Source and is especially popular with the co-op fans.

Linux users rejoice! Valve has just released the official Steam client for Linux. At the same time, a huge celebration sale of all Linux games hast been started on Steam. There are 50% to 75% discounts on all games for Linux.
Moreover, Valve advertises Linux as a gaming platform and recommends using Ubuntu.

The Linux team at Valve is looking for beta testers for the Linux version of Steam. A comment about it was discovered on the Valve's Linux Blog, according to which everyone wishing to participate in the beta program should express interest in a comment on the Valve's Linux Blog or in an e-mail written to valvelinuxteam@valvesoftware.com.
