Linux gamers, rejoice! Yesterday, as announced, Valve has released the beta version of its successful first-person shooter Left 4 Dead 2 for all game owners. The game is based on the current Valve's game engine Source and is especially popular with the co-op fans.

Today, one of the most successful PC games, Portal, has been released for Linux. While a lot of Linux gamers are still waiting for the release of Left 4 Dead for Linux, they can enjoy the award-winning game Portal, as a foretaste of the upcoming Valve's titles for Linux.

Since the release of Steam for Linux, new Linux games are being continuously announced for this gaming platform. Now, shortly after the release of Humble Bundle V including 7 Linux titles which can be redeemed on Steam, Valve has made Day of Defeat and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch available for Linux on Steam.

Linux users rejoice! Valve has just released the official Steam client for Linux. At the same time, a huge celebration sale of all Linux games hast been started on Steam. There are 50% to 75% discounts on all games for Linux.

Moreover, Valve advertises Linux as a gaming platform and recommends using Ubuntu.
